Challen trivia

Speaking with a customer today, he said when he was a lad and lived in UK he
went into a shop, called "Vivien Cohen" - and they had the famous Challen
11' Grand. My customer said it was a complete and uttter dud.  The salesman
agreed with him.

Years later this same customer went into another piano shop (which only sold
Challen) and they said they now had the very same 11' he had played in the
other shop. And, this shop had changed the design of the shop such that the
Grand was now stuck in a back room and couldn't be taken out because of the
shop alterations - and the shop couldn't sell it and didnt know what to do
with it
