Lacquer thinner doesn't touch ivory, if it is indeed permanent marker. I 
tried. Thought it would, but doesn't. If the ivory is as porous as my sample 
was, it's a very deep mark. Uh-Oh. If it is plastic, good old polishing 
compound will work great.
