I just caught the key phrase "Wood Handbook: Wood as
an Engineering Material" and it joggled loose a few
rusty old memory cells... This handbook can be viewed
or downloaded from the US Forestry Service, just use
the link:

This reference has about everything you ever wanted to
know about wood and then some... and it's handy to
have on the computer, although as an aerospace
engineer I don't get much call to use it for airplanes
now that they grounded the Spruce Goose!
