Hi John, If the tuning wasn't particularly affected, you're probably all right with the plate and general structure. Check for stripped plate lags, since they were what caught the plate on impact, and look the leg glue joints and mounting plates over closely. Check the dags and keyframe pins too, since they caught the action. Sounds like they may get by with damper work, action regulation, and some relatively minor repairs. If the piano is still in one piece come February (and the 20% RH), you're probably home free. Good luck, Ron N
