Good point Willem about some way to protect ourselves.
It's a shame that our court system allows the defense of the apparently
guilty to be ignored based on the actions of those who bring forth the
evidence. In other words, O.J. Simpson wasn't the villain it was Mark Ferman.
Bill Clinton wasn't the villain for lying under oath it was Ken Starr. And
when it all comes down to it in court, it won't be the lady who bought the
crummy piano that was bound to fall apart anyway, it will be the tuner who
tuned it because it was fine before he serviced it. It's a grotesque practice
in our judicial system but for now it's all too realistic because it's
allowed. It used to be if you didn't own anything you didn't have to worry
about it, now they will insure that by token settlements of $10000-$20000 (A
poultry sum for a court system that deals in the millions), to insure that
justice prevailed on the side of the plaintiff and a slap on the risk to
those professionals who erred on the side of not being conscientious enough.
If you've never been there it hard to accept. If you don't want to accept it
it's even harder. I'm glad to see that we have so many idealist in a trade
that used to be so simple.
