Old Chickering grand hammer shanks

Use Yamaha shanks.  You may have to put them on a sander to thin the
pin area very slightly and you may have to open the throat slightly
but that is Chickering, nothing standard fits.  I replace a full set
with Yamaha shanks once.  No great problem there but many problems
elsewhere.
