Hi Jim,

Yes, this needs to be stated.  It is assumed that one would only reformat
the drive AFTER the files had been copied.  I've been fiddling with
computers so long that maybe I assumed too much.  :-)  Brian, reformat the
drive BEFORE you buy a new one, and AFTER you try to save the data.

Hi John:

Your advice to Brian about formatting his old hard drive will defeat his
purpose. He wants to save some of his valuable stuff from the old hard
drive. Formatting this drive would erase everything.
