I am a dealer tech and have been one for 20 years I guess I like it. I think it is best to wait at least two weeks and in some cases the full ninety days. We tune all our pianos before they are delivered and many come straight out of the crate, and some are floor stock. For straight out of the box pianos I give about two weeks. Two weeks is enough time for the piano to have become acclimated to the humidity level in the house. If it is before a major season change,it is best to wait for two weeks after or untill the humidity stabilises..i.e.constant heating or full time a/c. Of course some brands we sell are so unstable and far from pitch they need to be tuned again in the first week after delivery and then a month later. We sometimes give two free tunings since we guarentee the piano is in tune on delivery.
