I've seen too many corks without glue coming out and flopping around. Shrinkage? misfit?... I don't know but I prefer to be safe with a "dab" of yellow glue. Be careful, too much may create noisy 'bits and clicks'. With the stap on insert tool, dampen the lower edge of the cork just enough to be some aid , no need to cementing them in. Wipe off excess before inserting cork. I find this creates a more secure joint, without causing problems later, and takes very little time.
