Just imagine the possible permutations and color range of two dissimilar pianos, tuned in different temperaments. Throw in a mix of music in different keys and you could have a heck of a show. It would probably take six months of R&D to decide on the optimal mix of music and temperaments for any two (or more!) pianos for any given program, unless you had a committee, in which case it would never be decided, but the possible end result makes the idea kind of intriguing in a perverse sort of way. Might make a good opening ceremony closing piece in Arlington. Ron N
