They offer to give it to me to get it out of their hair, if I will move it. Any opinions?? It is dark wood, upright, and cosmetically seems to be in good shape. It almost appears to be some sort of "institutional model", most panels are secured with conspicuous stainless steel screws, which look like they are part of the original design. I have no idea of the age or model, but would presume this came to the school as a donation. Comments valued!! Trash or treasure?? Dave >> Dave, IF this is a Williams & Sons piano, made in Chicago in the early years of this century, then it MAY be a keeper. They were large, overbuilt, expensive uprights that sounded very good. My grandfather bought one in 1913 (for $700, I'm told, since one of my uncles was a talented young musician then), and it has been with the family ever since. I now have it, and it is frequently used to do piano duos with a similar vintage S&S "O." The two match up better than you might think. Stan Ryberg Barrington IL
