You might try rebushing the guide.. also... all squeeks and buzzes in pianos can seem like they are comming from one place, when they are actually coming from another. Sometimes you could swear on your grandmothers wedding shoes that you are right, and find out in the end the problem was comeing from elsewhere. So... if all fails, start looking around for other sources. Check inside the pedal box, and the bushing at the back end of the pedal. > > Is the next thing to change the felt liner? One thing I find very often that may resemble a "click" sound is the jacks slaping back on the rest / stop spoon (or whatever the particular configuation on this grand is). Sometimes the repetition spring is too strong, sometimes the jack centers are too loose, often enough it is the felt part of the jack position regulation button that has gotten packed down hard. Combinations of these can cause either a "thumping" or a "clicking" noise depending on how things play out. There are lots of other things that can cause your problem, and you will no doubt get plenty of ideas from several on this list, so without further aduie.... I defer to them...grin Always fun to hear what, in the end, the problem turns out to be.. so keep us all informed, are you kind. > > > Thanks in advance. > > Ed Carwithen > John Day, OR -- Richard Brekne Associate PTG, N.P.T.F.
