How about:
Not in direct sunlight. 
Not backed to a window. (vertical)
Not straddling a floor furnace. (grand... I've seen it)
Not over or directly in front of a working heating duct.
Not under a shelf, huge picture, wall sculpture so the lid can't be lifted. 
Not under the stereo system, or the arboretum.
Not with the treble end against a wall, filing cabinet, etc. 
Not "built in" to the wall, or any minimal clearance niche.
Not in the pool house.
Not anywhere in a house heated exclusively with wood.
Not against any wall where frost forms behind the piano.
Not on the wrong side of an outside wall.
