Remember, they made a mistake, not you. Don't be afraid to hurt their feelings. Be matter of fact. You don't have to be rude, but be firm, and inform the customer that this happened. Most of the time the customer will be apologetic, and give you what you ask for. It's against the law to bounce a check. Legally, (at least in Missouri), someone who bounces or stops payment on a check for services rendered, can be held liable for 3 times the face amount of the check. Charging someone $10 -- $20 is letting them off the hook easily. Wim
