I 'assume' that ET was chosen because it is the temperament of choice for the great unwashed. :-), The tuning tests test an individual to 'a' standard with the assumption that if they can do this they can transfer the skills needful for tuning other temperaments. Some 'standard' other than ET might be used in the testing as some others have said in the past. Therefore I can't quite agree that by using other temperaments we somehow diminsh the validity of the tests...although I can see how that "implication" might be perceived. Jim Bryant (FL)
