Terry It sounds to me your Steinway tech is a little insecure about his tunings. I can't claim a lnog history of concert work, but I tune a lot of Steinway grands for some very talented clients, and have for quite sometime; which tells me my tunings hold up to their scrutiny. I don't understand why your tech friend needs to go through all that if he getsright the first time.
