Yes.  Route out as much material as is needed to cover the pinned area and
replace it with new material cut to fit and bedded in place with a good glue
like epoxy since it tends to fill gaps better than yellow glue does.  That is if
you can get that perfect fit.  I know I cannot!

I have seen this done on a Bechstein as well as an upright.  Seems to work well
for everyone.
