 To me the reason that there is a difference is the board is first going =
to be excited in an up and down motion as it is struck on the top of the =
bridge. When the bridge is struck from the side it will not be as ready =
to impart the energy as directly to the sound board as with its design =
it is not the bridge that is primarily responsible for transduction of =
