Hello Howard, Hey' Big Guy how are things in Louisiana ? My dictionary describes vellum as, and I quote " a fine-grained lambskin, kid skin or a calf skin prepared for writing on or for binding books". It does the job of a flange very well. I have seen it still working well on pianos over 100 years old. The Collard and Collard I have uses flanges except on the underlevers. I have considered changeing over to flanges. I may yet.
