DC with midi?

Customer has a Yamaha U1 with the "silent" feature. The MIDI (open face)
circuit board is in the area where a dehumidifier would normally intersect
it, so i'm wondering if it would be safe to install the rod LOWER than
usual, which in this case would be about 6" from the bottom. This position
would keep the rod (50 watts) about 4-6" below the circuit board, but would
this be ok? There would be no HUmidifier installed, only the DEhumidifier
and stat. I figure since the customer's in the Beach area, where the average
humidity is 60-100% year round, this would keep excess moisture from
condensing on the open circuit, in addition to retarding corrosion. Btw, a
rear mounted DC system is not an option. Thanks in advance for tips &
advice! happy twothousandtwo!
