When you get a box of flats the inside cut of a pair is the best cut
there is. If you put the inside cut to the outside you will get
better looking dampers.

When I cut wedges I put a pen mark on one side of the back so that I
can always put the marked side toward the wire. Makes seating easier.

Always keep the same side to the outside.
