Aha!  What we have here is a failure to communicate. I think...

I can imagine the movers saying something to the effect that stage trucks 
are built to accomodate a range of piano sizes and the _arms_ are 
adjustable to do this.

The customer heard only "adjustable" mumble, mumble, mumble stage trucks.
