I found a Material Safety Data Sheet for Sodium Azide at the following link: http://www.jtbaker.com/msds/s2906.htm Be very careful with the stuff. We use it in our laboratory and it is very dangerous. Obviously Mr. Peters has used it safely so it can be done. Just be careful. We buy it from places like Fisher Scientific, etc. I don't know where individuals can buy the stuff.
