Let off

This works in an emergency but for concert work it is not good enough.
For those who can do it, lett-off should be twice the thickness of the
string and three times the thickness of the core of wrapped strings.
For the rest of us the description I suggested earlier works best.

Besides, let-off buttons get depressed in different amounts at different
locations and a half turn can be anything from too close to too far.
