I built mine out of 2x4s. The top was 2x8s or whatever. The main thing was to put a masonite cover on the workbench top. Eventually, when it got messed up with glue, paint, or wear, or whatever, you could just flip it over or replace it for a nice, clean, smooth surface. Make the table high enough to stand in front of it comfortably. You should also get those thick rubber mats to put under your feet. I also used an adjustable height chair with good back support at my workbench. Mat and chair came from a company called Turnkey. I also put all my floor tools (band saw, drill press, planer, table saw)on dollies as well as a little portable work table. Worked for me! Carol Beigel
