Fees - revisited

As my work enters different areas of piano technology, I have finally
decided on a pricing system that is fair to both myself and the customer.

I figure what I make tuning pianos in the area I normally work in. If my
normal work day is 6 hours, start
to finish, and I can tune 4 pianos in that amount of time, then that is what
I charge for 6 hours work. I would charge more to travel further for a
tuning than I normally do.

No matter if I am on concert standby, sitting in traffic, or repairing an
action at home, or regulating a piano in the field, why should I charge less
that what I can make in a normal business day going out and tuning 4 or 5
pianos?

Add to that the overhead, which for me, is my car - gas, parking and
payments!

Works for me.
