Handling wire

I went to the safety supply store on Friday to get more earplugs and to pick
up some gloves for working around in the shop. I asked for something
tight-fitting with good 'feeling'. He gave me a pair of tight-fitting gloves
with PVC dots. I tried them today, and handled everything but new wire.

I was wondering if there might be a concern with the PVC dot handling piano
wire(re-stringing)..
