To some degree, yes. But those noises are mostly overwhelmed by those coming
from the plate, strings, rim, etc. Next time you have a piano de-strung,
slide the action back in and adjust it so that the hammers strike right on
the bottom of the V-bar. Or, just mute out the strings fully and strike the
keys. You'll see what I mean.
