I wouldn't be suprised to find that to be true Wim. I replaced a keybed in a similar Knabe a while back and it was morticed into the rim. It came apart easy enough - thanks to diligent termites. Putting it back together was indeed a bit of work. I'll look forward to this pinblock - it definately has to go - pin dope all over the place. Hey, if it went in, it must come out - and go back in!
