A request from Chile

> will never play and feel like a top end Steinway or Yamaha!!

The C-1, for it's size, is an impressive little piano. The action in
that piano is exactly the same action you will find in any Yamaha except
the GH-1. There are differences but they are in terms of the layout of
the plate struts and hammer weight.

ANy action of reasonable construction can be made to feel like any other
action in terms of touch weight and responsiveness.

An action is a series of levers, simple and direct. With very little
effort one can change the tough weight, the overall action balance and
it can be made to feel like and respond like any other good action.

Read the articles refereed to in earlier posts to get an inkling of what
can be done with even a "normal" action.

The point is that the gentleman from Chile is not happy with his action,
it is too heavy for him. He is otherwise content with the piano.
Changing the touch weight to his requirement is not that difficult and
if it makes him happy who is there to say him nay?
