 This 'probably' is not true since the "flap" aids in keeping the bushing 
cloth from swelling and rolling in moist climates that is 'probably' why it 
is there. I have run across several low end thingees with bushings, with flat 
cut bushings, that had rolled and were causing sticking problems...
Just a thought.
