List, The lubricant I prefer, for lubricating the friction points of strings, is LPS-1. It is an extremely light lubrication that does not collect dust, (like WD40), it dissapates in a day or so and displaces water. I find this lube to be excellent for lubing damper rod pivots, hammer rail pivots and damper spoons. It should be available at the ACE hardware stores nearest you. Regards, Joe Garrett, RPT, (Oregon)
