One problem I see with this method is that you need access to the bridge =
to cut the bearing notches.  Remember, at this point you are dealing =
with a bridge that is not yet planed down to it's final height.  You =
prestress the board, cut your notches in a few key areas, remove =
everything and plane down the bridge, mark, drill, notch, etc... On a =
new board some do this with a dry fit, before the glue in the board =
itself.  That way the planing, drilling, pinning and notching can be =
done outside the piano where there is more comfortable access.

  What about a rig similar to a pneumatic rib clamp. Just use the half =
with the fire hose. Clamp it to the rim above the bridge, inflate, and =
there you go with measurable pressure applied all along the long bridge=20
