No problem Terry, I use the band saw to taper the ribs roughly. I finish with the spoke shave and sanding. I cut with the bandsaw and just before I get to the end of the rib, I stop and back it up carefully. So, the rib is shaped, but not all the way through. This leaves me with a more even surface to put pressure on the glue joint. Hope you can see what I mean. When feathering the end of the rib (the taper on the last several inches of each rib)? How in the world would you put most of the taper in except for the last 1/2"? Why would you need some extra wood on the rib end while clamping the rib to the panel? Maybe these are stupid questions because I am just missing some major concept. But what might that be?
