The guy did say (PTJ article) that the master tuning (for each individual
piano) would be done by normal methods, and then would be stored using only
the fundamentals, as produced by the continuously excited strings. He also
isn't claiming that higher harmonics are not important in tuning; only that
these automated re-tunings would be accomplished by matching fundamentals to
the ones in memory.

Has anyone mentioned the tuning problems resulting from the inharmonicity
differences between struck and continuously excited strings?
