convention sites (campuses)

A convention the size of the PTG would never fit in North Bennet Street
School. Furthermore, there is no campus housing. The neighborhood is one
of the oldest parts of Boston with tiny crooked streets -- it's probably
pretty difficult to move just one piano in or out of the building, let alone
the 80-something pianos brought in for conventions. It is a crowded vibrant
neighborhood even without NBSS students and staff around.

Hmmm, perhaps there should have been "field trips" to Boston during the 1998
convention in Providence. There were such trips to the Mason and Hamlin
factory in Haverhill (about 30 miles north of Boston), and I wonder how many
people would have liked a look-see at NBSS followed by some fabulous Italian
food.

Meanwhile, make plans to visit NBSS next time the NEECSO is held in the
Boston area.

Sorry about that...I'll blame it on my computer! Anyway, as I was saying,
having a convention at one of the piano trade schools like North Bennett
(sp?) Street School, or the one in Ontario could have some advantages both
for the attendees and for the school.
