Bechstein key height

Ray,

The keyslip is the case part that runs along the front of keys.  The fallboard opens and closes over the keys.  Which one are you talking about?  In any event, keep in mind what you are doing to the capstan/wippen connection.  I'd look at the wippen cushions to see if you have large surface area of wear, possibly from a change after the piano left the factory.  It had to be fine when it left the factory...
