    OK, here I am to supply more information than anyone really wants to =
know. (So, what's new?)

    I suppose the best way to recycle them would be for fishing weights, =
although unless you do a lot of deep-sea fishing for say, Cod, you won't =
need many four pound weights. With Cod, you're fishing at about 600 =
feet, so they really come in handy.=20
    The lead in key weights is not really suited for casting bullets. =
It's dead soft, pure lead. If you're going to make useful bullets out of =
it, you have to alloy it with two substances; tin and antimony. Antimony =
we used to get from type-setters, but they don't do it that way any =
more, so the source for linotype has pretty much dried up. And has =
anyone tried buying a pound of solder lately? Tin's pretty expensive, =
seeing how we don't have any natural resources of it in this country.=20

    We're all worried about lead, but I wonder......... Where did it =
come from? Answer; mines,,,,,,,,(in the ground.) Where's it going to =
end up? In the ground. But, if we can save a little money by not =
having to excavate it, then it should be recycled, obviously. We don't =
want to bring it up from deep in the Earth to leech into our water =
table, but our landfills shouldn't be draining into our water-table =
anyway. Who wants to drink garbage? =20

      Lead is toxic. Reusing them is problematic, you have a lead =
exposure=20
  problem unless you store them tightly, and even then, they are =
lopsided and=20
  less likely to fit the holes you may need to drill.=20
     I take mine to the gun store, where the reloaders that make their =
own=20
  bullets use them. These are usually destined for the gun range, which =
is=20
  already thoroughly polluted.  =20
  If you throw them away, they simply go somewhere else to poison =
things. =20
