Hours in the car..

I have wondered about the satellite radio. Sounds interesting. We are fortunate in the Tampa Bay area to have two non-commercial excellent radio stations (WUSF & WMNF).

On a related topic, I find that a high-quality stereo system in the car makes travel time a pleasure. Once you have your satellite radio, some other good station, or your favorite CD playing, consider investing in aftermarket amplifiers, component speakers, and subwoofers. Prices range from about $1K to $2K for good stuff. You can easily turn your automobile into an audio experience surpassing most quality home stereos (and no, you don't have to go boom, boom, boom down the street - you can jam to Beethoven or Chopin just as easily). I just finished (yesterday) installing my stereo in my new (used) car and went for a test drive yesterday. It definately works! Anyone need a piano serviced in Key West????

I find it gives me a very different attitude when faced with a longer-than-otherwise-desired drive to an appointment.
