Hi Gordon, If I had to go to all that trouble, I would opt for re pinning. On really old pianos, there is usually a gap on the rear side of the pin. But this was a 1972 Kawai, and the bushings were firm and tight. They were sure glued to the plate, right along with all the belly felt.
