Greg I am not sure it makes any difference............ I have actually 
sprayed a mist coat of laquer rather than sealer, by mistake, and it worked 
just as well.   In 'My' mind the  purpose of the (sanding sealer ) mist coat 
is to reduce drag on the filler and leave less filler on the surface to be 
sanded off.
