Broken string repair

Hi Hazen,

You're talking about the end of the new spliced-on wire?  Same problem you'd have if you were installing a new string?  Here's a trick I learned from Richard Kingsbury:

buy a length of brass tubing at a model/hobby shop, 1/16" inside diameter.  Bend a curve in one end that will let you pass the tube under the pressure bar from the tuning pin side.  Now stick the end of the string into the tube, pull the tube back out, free the string from the tube, and you're ready to cut and coil.
