Rep lever stays down, jack plays once, then is caught on the front of the knuckle, since the hammer is unsupported by the rep lever. I had one of these once -- a giant paper clip wandered into a newish Steinway B. It was sporadic. If you fiddled with the key, the hammer would sometimes end up balanced on the end of the jack. Susan
