was "The Wickham Piano Plate, Springfield, OH." Kelly plate, (or what was
Kelly plate until S&S bought it recently) is located in Springfield, OH. Was
Wickham a predecessor that evolved into Kelly, or was Springfield simply a
hot-bed (so to speak) of plate manufacturers.

Wickham was a separate foundry also located in Springfield. They supplied
plate castings of poorer and poorer quality and continually refused to
upgrade their facility until ultimately they became uncompetitive and went
out of business. Sometime in the 1970s if memory serves.
