Leather key bushings

Phil,
You need to be cautious as to what you put on leather key bushings. Proteck
is NOT one of those substances! Another approach would be better. Try: 1.
burnish the leather with a very smooth tool, such as a plated screwdriver
blade. 2. Make sure the key pins are absolutely free of any corrosion or
crud. 3. Once the key pin is clean and smooth, apply a spray Teflon on the
keys, (NOT on the leather, as the carrier is alcohol, which will effect the
leather).
Generally, leather bushings need less side play and will function for eons,
under heavy use.
