Help! Setting up a new shop

Gee, I really don't know. I didn't have a clue as to where to put mine when I built my shop, so I just stuck in more-or-less in the middle. Seems to have worked out quite well there. I think really just anywhere that you will be doing work on the case and soundboard and all. I have a hook a couple feet over mounted in the ceiling - that way when I'm not using my hoist I just hook the chains up and out of the way. I have 8-foot ceilings, so I needed to shorten my chain a little bit. My hoist looks a lot like the Harbor Freight type. Mine was only about $75 and it was made in China. Works excellent.

How tall are your ceilings? I can send you a few pictures of my shop - chainfall, lights, etc. if you wish. I am VERY happy with my lighting - I really just guessed at how much light I might need - but it worked out well.
