The long bit makes the job easier, and if you are going to do a few of them, 
it is certainly worth the expense. It not only is long enough to easily go by 
the tray, it also leaves a taperedhole with a slight countersink at the top.  
I think it is a lifetime tool, and mine has about 10 back actions on it and 
still works well.
