In a case like this = the most likely cause is that the owner, or someone the owner knows = altered the piano. Every time I see something that just looks too weird = to be true, such as this I begin to ask the owner some discreet = question, and every single time it boils down to somebody who had no = business doing something to the piano just "trying to help out."
