Oh my gawd - he still has that nasty old thing? Yikes. I've heard him play it several times - I've heard of de-tuning duplexes, but de-tuning a piano? It does not surprise me that they did not want it tuned. I suspect its sound is an evolution rather than a procedure.

I'm not sure what kind of organ it is, but he has used that also for many years/tours.

I'm sure I would have enjoyed the concert. I just may be the biggest fan of his music this side of the Redneck Riviera. I'll be attending his local gig this June.

Crazy Horse is his staple rock 'n roll band - same group since about 1970. And then there has been Neil Young and the Stray Gators, NY & the Shocking Pinks, NY & Friends, CSNY, The Stills-Young Band, NY & The Blue Notes, NY with Pearl Jam, and I'm sure other incarnations that I can't think of right off.

Don't know exactly what it was, but the thing had no front and looked like he dragged it out of a dumpster. I wondered at the time about doing his tuning - wouldn't be surprised if he requested some kind of not-so-well temperament tuning!

> Yeah... the big band he's traveling with call themselves... you got it... Crazy Horse ! He still does the old upright thing. That was on stage too but they didnt want it tuned. Kind of a honky tonk sounding / playing thing... gets tuned every 5 - 6 gigs. No front and fits your description nicely :) They also had what looked to be an old wooden pipe organ, or perhaps just a real ornate
