Well, yes and no. No he didn't explain why. He only explained what: "Dampp-Chaser recommends keeping dehumidifiers out of the action.  This is based on our experience and the concerns of piano manufacturers." And yes, I would agree that an uncontrolled rod could dry up the pinblock too much - but I thought the H2-less installation fad went out of style in the 90s?
